Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin told Fox News & Commentary that she found the card to be a bit unusual.

“It’s odd,” she said, wondering why the president’s Christmas card highlights his dog instead of traditions like “family, faith and freedom.”

Clarion, Iowa (CNN) – Republican presidential contender Michele Bachmann continued her super-charged bus tour across Iowa Sunday, attending several more events to shake hands and sign autographs.

Her events have been largely of the meet-and-greet variety – get in and out as fast as she can. The campaign has instituted a “no questions” policy at a majority of her stops this weekend to keep things moving, and that generally applies to both the media and to Iowa voters.

Actually the media and polsters don’t get it. You can’t get the pulse of average americans by asking crafted questions. You need to listen to them, and actually want to hear their concerns.

The cost of living increases every year at an average of 5-10 %, yet our bosses struggle to give us as little as possible to keep within their payroll budget. And when it comes time to reward all the sacrifises made in tough times, only the top level managers are remembered.

But the average american is also at fault for all this also. They wish it would all change for the better, but won’t get off the couch to work for the changes needed. They would rather catch up on the last episode of CSI, or a movie on AMC.

Wealthy financiers are trying to turn the Occupy movement into a rich vs. poor debate. What they still don’t understand is that Americans don’t hate the rich. They hate the rich in finance.

So says JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon, the highest paid executive among the six biggest U.S. banks. At an investors’ conference in New York, Bloomberg reported that Dimon grew mystified when someone in the audience asked him about hostility toward bankers.

“Acting like everyone who’s been successful is bad and because you’re rich you’re bad, I don’t understand it,” said Dimon, whose 2010 compensation totaled $23 million.

Dimon just doesn’t get it. It’s not that Americans think the rich are “bad.” Actually, the nation has long been fascinated by the untouchably wealthy. It’s the basis for countless reality shows, from the Kardashians to the housewives; it’s why millions tuned in for the royal wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William this year; it’s why celebrities keep the paparazzi in business.

Police charged 20-year-old Taylor Giresi, of Lake Como, with aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit assault. A teen they say recorded the assault faces a charge of conspiracy.

Giresi was jailed on $60,000 bail. A message sent to his Facebook page and telephone messages left at four homes in the Lake Como area registered to people with the same last name were not immediately returned Monday.
